Nowadays it seems like the art of cooking is becoming a thing of the past. There are so many choices with fast food and prepackaged meals. If your idea of cooking is heating water for boxed macaroni & cheese or your cooking skills need dusting, let us help you learn or relearn the fine art of cooking healthy meals.

Each session is individualized for your tastes, desires, goals and special requirements.

Nutrition Analysis

  • 1 hour in-home consultation to determine what you like to eat and learn to cook.
  • 1 hour basic nutrition education. Healthy cooking begins with nutrition basics.

Shopping Savvy

  • 1 hour supermarket tour
  • Label reading

Food Prep and Cook

  • Cooking (~2 hours)– prepare one meal and eat it together in the Dayaalu Center kitchen or your home kitchen.
  • Food safety and storage

Follow-Up

  • One hour follow-up consultation after one month
All About Ayurvedic Cooking

Ayurvedic cooking is all about herbs and spices. Ayurveda teaches that everyone is different and though we are a combination of the three body types, usually one predominates. Depending on your body frame type (or Dosha) your body has foods that make it run well, or well, not so well. If you’re new to Ayurveda you may need an introductory course in cooking Ayurvedically with herbs and spices that match your dosha.

Heat & Eat Meals

It’s tough to work all day and have the time and energy to prepare healthy meals for you or the whole family. Together we’ll determine the foods you like to eat. I’ll create a menu and deliver healthy, mostly organic Heat & Eat meals once a week (some meals may require a small amount of preparation). These meals can be based on special diets, can be vegan, vegetarian, or for carnivores.

Our health needs change as we get older and so do our cooking needs.  We’ll make it easy for you to cook for yourself by creating healthy menus and meal plans out of foods you like to eat.
